Clayton Brinster, MD, is Associate Professor of Surgery and Co-Director, Genetic Aortic and Related Disorders Center at Keck Medicine of University of Southern California. His practice focuses on complex endovascular aortic surgery and on urgent carotid surgery, specifically on the development of naitonal research initiatives and multi-specialty treatment protocols for carotid web.
He obtained his medical degree and completed a residency in general surgery at the University of Pennsylvania and later a fellowship in vascular and endovascular surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Brinster gained specialized endovascular aortic training at the Hospital ClinÃc in Barcelona, Spain, and Klinikum Nurnberg in Nurnberg, Germany. He then started the Ochsner Aortic Center at Ochsner Health in New Orleans, Lousiana and led the Univesity of Chicago Aortic Center before joining the faculty at USC.
