This session explores the evolving field of geriatric vascular surgery, highlighting the distinct physiological, ethical, and clinical considerations in treating older adults. Through a series of focused talks by leading experts, it addresses risk stratification, procedural selection, postoperative care, and innovative technologies tailored to this growing patient population. The goal is to promote evidence-based, compassionate, and individualized care for elderly patients facing vascular disease.

This session will explore international approaches to integrating frailty assessment into vascular surgery, highlighting strategies for risk stratification, shared decision-making, and improved surgical outcomes. Experts from diverse healthcare systems will share models of care, practical tools, and lessons learned to address the challenges of an aging, complex patient population. Participants will leave with actionable insights to adapt frailty-informed practices to their own clinical and institutional contexts.
