This multidisciplinary session on the diabetic foot ulcer brings together leading experts from multiple disciplines to help forge a better pathway and algorithm of care to address the epidemic of diabetes and its initially silent co-traveler, the diabetic foot ulcer. Twenty percent of people with diabetes develop a foot ulcer during their lifetime, and 20% of such patients end up with an amputation. Despite many advances, amputation rates appear to be increasing in the US. Participate in discussing solutions for better, more effective prevention and care.
