Ali Alshawi is a vascular surgery resident at Washington University in St. Louis. I will be presenting a video on anatomical femoral-tibial bypass at this year's Vascular Annual Meeting.
Outside of my residency, I founded the Al-Zahrawi Research Scholarship, a program that supports medical students from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in completing summer research electives at institutions in the United States. He completed his medical degree at RCSI.
I previously completed 3 clinical years prior to joining my vascular training, 2 general surgery years at Penn and OHSU, and one year in Dublin, Ireland. I'm interested in peripheral vascular disease, aortic disease, and educational research.
