Dora Zoe Zatyko, M.D. is a PhD candidate who completed three years of integrated vascular surgery residency training at Semmelweis University Heart and Vascular Center in Budapest, Hungary. She is currently a postdoctoral research fellow at the Houston Methodist DeBakey Heart & Vascular Center under the mentorship of Dr. Alan B. Lumsden.
Dr. Zatyko received her medical degree from Semmelweis University, where she continued her postgraduate training in vascular surgery and began her PhD research on vascular grafts and graft infections. Her training across Europe and the United States has shaped a broad clinical and academic perspective on vascular surgery.
Her current research focuses on aortic dissection, 4D flow MRI, dynamic magnetic resonance angiography, robotic-assisted vascular surgery, and digital surgery analytics. Through this work, she explores how advanced imaging, surgical robotics, and data-driven technologies can improve procedural planning, technical precision, and outcomes for patients with complex vascular disease.
Dr. Zatyko is committed to building a career as an academic vascular surgeon, combining patient care with research, innovation, and mentorship. Her long-term goal is to help advance vascular surgery by bridging clinical excellence with emerging imaging and surgical technologies.
