Dr. Alessandro Robaldo is Senior Consultant and Deputy Head of the Division of Vascular Surgery and Angiology at the Regional Hospital of Lugano (Ente Ospedaliero Cantonale), Switzerland.
He holds the European Board certification (FEBVS) and the Swiss Federal Specialist title (FMH) in Vascular Surgery.
His international training includes a Research Fellowship in Vascular Surgery at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston (2008–2009), and a visiting fellowship in advanced aortic endovascular techniques (FEVAR/BEVAR) at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN (2019). He has also trained in interventional vascular radiology and advanced below-the-knee endovascular revascularization.
With more than 3000 procedures performed as primary operator, his clinical expertise spans open and endovascular management of aortic aneurysms (EVAR, TEVAR, FEVAR, BEVAR), peripheral arterial disease, and carotid surgery. He has performed over 11,500 vascular ultrasound examinations and is the author of more than 50 peer-reviewed academic papers.
Dr. Robaldo's principal focus is aortic surgery. He is also actively engaged in mentoring vascular surgery residents and fellows, leads the vascular service at the Ticino Diabetic Foot Center, and is a member of the multidisciplinary aortic team dedicated to the treatment of complex thoracic and thoraco-abdominal aortic pathology.
