Lauren West-Livingston is a PGY-4 integrated vascular surgery resident at Duke University. She is finishing her academic development years, which involved research vascular tissue engineering and disease modeling, patient-centered outcomes research, and clinical chart reviews. Her research time has been funded by an NIH NHLBI R38 grant, an NIH LRP grant, the AHA Postdoctoral Fellowship, and the EVS DEI grant. She recently recieved a Technician Grant from the Duke Office of Physician Scientist Development to supplement the salary of a research technician to continue her basic science research as she transitions back into clinical rotations. She aspires to have her own basic science laboratory as a surgeon-scientist in an academic setting.
