Dr. Minion is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame (B.S., Biology) and Indiana University School of Medicine (M.D.). He completed a General Surgery residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and Vascular Surgery fellowship at Case Western Reserve University. He currently serves as the Gordie Hyde Endowed Professor of Vascular Surgery at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, where he has practiced since completing his training in 1997. He has a strong interest in the advancement of surgical techniques. His previous contributions include the Revision Using Distal Inflow (RUDI) procedure for dialysis access associated steal, the Endowedge technique for creating in-vitro scallops during EVAR, the Trifurcated technique which was a precursor for Iliac Branch Devices, and the Eye of the Tiger molding technique for eliminating gutters in parallel endografting. He holds six patents.
