Dr. Calderon is an Associate Professor of Vascular Surgery at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan and received his medical degree from McGovern Medical School at UT Health. He completed an integrated vascular surgery residency at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.
Dr. Calderon is committed to multi-disciplinary collaboration and innovative approaches to patient care. He specializes in the minimally invasive, endovascular treatment of vascular disease. He is a lead member of the limb preservation team at the University of North Carolina, with a focus on both complex arterial and venous pathology contributing to limb preservation outcomes. His research interests are centered around chronic limb threatening ischemia, deep venous reconstruction, endovascular approach to complex cerebrovascular occlusive disease, medical education, and innovation in vascular surgery residency and fellowship training. Dr. Calderon serves as the Principal Investigator of several national clinical trials.
