Palma Shaw is Professor of Surgery at State University of New York and member of Division of Vascular Surgery at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, NY. She is Program Director of the Vascular Fellowship and leads their Limb Preservation Program. She has a Master of Business Administration. She completed Vascular Surgery Fellowship at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. She was Visiting Research Fellow with Dr. Frank Veith at Montefiore Medical Center. She is a Distinguished Fellow of the Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS), Secretary General of World Federation of Vascular Societies (WFVS), Past President of International Society for Endovascular Specialists, President of the International Society of Women Vascular Surgeons, Recorder for Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery, and President-elect for Eastern Vascular Society. She served as the SVS Advisory Liaison to the Executive Board (2022-2023) and is Co-Founder of the SVS Women’s Section. She is Chair of the SVS Industry Relations Advisory Committee and on the Board of Directors for the SVS Foundation. She leads the Global Training Initiative for the WFVS. She is a member of Association of Program Directors in Vascular Surgery serving on the SECOND Trial Committee and Research Committee. Her interests include endovascular aortic surgery, peripheral intervention, venous intervention, Diabetic foot management and wound care.
