Dr. Rajani currently serves as the Executive Associate Dean for Emory at Grady within the Emory University School of Medicine. Within that role, he is the primary liaison between Emory School of Medicine and Grady Health System. Dr. Rajani provides executive oversight and strategic direction for Emory School of Medicine’s clinical, research, and teaching missions at Grady and is the Leon L. Haley, Jr. Distinguished Professor within the School.
Dr. Rajani attended medical school at the University of Michigan, did his general surgery training at the Cleveland Clinic, undertook his surgical critical care residency and trauma fellowship at Emory and Grady, and completed his vascular and endovascular surgery fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic. He joined Emory in 2011 as the chief of vascular and endovascular surgery at Grady Memorial Hospital, a position he held until 2023. He also has previously served as director of the Grady Heart and Vascular Service Line.
Dr. Rajani has served as the principal investigator for several trauma-specific clinical trials, and is particularly interested in refining thoracic stent graft technology for treating blunt aortic injury. He is the Immediate Past-President of the Vascular and Endovascular Surgery Society and the Editor of Annals of Vascular Surgery. Dr. Rajani is a recipient of the Junior Resident Teaching Award, the J. Richard Amerson Teaching Award, and the Dean's Teaching Award at Emory University School of Medicine. Lastly, he serves on the board of directors for the Vascular Surgery Board of the American Board of Surgery.
