Vikram S. Kashyap, MD, FACS, DFSVS is the Endowed Chair, Frederik Meijer Heart and Vascular Institute, and the Vice President for Cardiovascular Health at Corewell Health, Grand Rapids MI. He leads a collaborative, multidisciplinary Institute of over 1000 surgeons, cardiologists, intensive care experts, advanced practice providers, nurses, technologists, and staff. This team performed 4500 surgical procedures, >11,000 catheterizations, and >100,000 cardiovascular imaging studies in 2025 leading to $1.26 B in gross revenue. His operational team is focused on optimizing quality, increasing volume and market growth, and insuring great outcomes. His efforts have led to a top 50 program in heart and vascular care, 73 active or completed clinical trials in the last five years, and six training programs.
Dr. Kashyap completed his undergraduate work at The Pennsylvania State University and received his medical degree from the Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA. He completed his residency in Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital from 1990-97 followed by a Vascular and Endovascular Surgery Fellowship at the University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Kashyap was Chief of Vascular Surgery at Wilford Hall Medical Center at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas from 1999-2003. He was recruited to the Cleveland Clinic (2003 to 2011) and from 2011-2022, he was the Chief of the Division of Vascular Surgery at University Hospitals and was Professor of Surgery in the Case Western Reserve University. He is widely published in peer-reviewed medical journals and has authored or co-authored more than 200 articles and two books.
