This session provides information regarding exposure of the spine, taking the audience from pre-operative evaluation to intraoperative conduct and finally through post-operative care. Technical guidance will be provided regarding various exposures, at various levels, and in a variety of subpopulations. This session will review the potential complications during spine exposure and will provide helpful tips on how to minimize them. Beyond technique, the nuances of preoperative planning and the threshold for aborting will be discussed.
